Green Tropical Craving: Spinach, Mango, Strawberry, Pineapple + Coconut Water

Seriously, where did summer go?! With school around the corner for some, and for others that are already in school, there is still a fun and healthy way to enjoy the very last of the summer sunny days. Still have your mind in the beach and sun...? What a better way than to indulge yourself with a refreshing green tropical smoothie?

So for those out there that are not fan of veggies, just like me, hands down... you will LOVE and CRAVE for more! So don't judge the smoothie by its color.

This green smoothie is very simple to make and is full of vitamins and rich nutrients that your body will be craving for. Remember you are what you eat! Specially during this time of the year that your body and brain needs more endurance. Go ahead and fuel your body with the right foods in order to have more energy for those long days at school.

All you will need is the following:

Ingredients
  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 2 cups of coconut water
  • 1/2 cup of strawberries
  • 1 cup of pineapple
  • 1 cup of mango
  • 1 banana

Optional
  • chia seeds

Grab your blender and pour the coconut water along with the spinach. If you are not a fan of coconut, no worries, substitute it for water. Blend together and then add all the fruit. If you like your juice to have a thicker consistency add less water and if you adore bananas, add 1/2 banana.  If not add more coconut water for a lighter consistency. Blend together.

Chia seeds are optional but feel free to add them to the very last or even blend them at the end. Chia seeds are great for your body and have a lot of amazing benefits, among them they are known to make brain cells more efficient, so put it this way, it gives power to the brain eventually helping to improve memory and concentration... perfect for school right?!

If you would like to enjoy your smoothie cold, go ahead and place all your fruit in the freezer the night before or couple hours before preparing the smoothie. So adding ice won't be necessary :)

A great tip for drinking your smoothie later on the day is to place it on a Mason Jar or a glass jar sealed tight so that it remains fresh and place it in the fridge.

Enjoy your greens and have a great semester!
